New Delhi, February 9: BJP MPs have expressed strong opposition to the no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, proposed by opposition parties. They argue that the opposition lacks substantial issues and is attempting to mislead the public.
BJP MP Kamaljeet Sahrawat stated, “The Lok Sabha Speaker is consistently guiding opposition leaders under the rules, but they refuse to comply with his directives. It doesn’t matter what proposal they bring.”
Nishikant Dubey, another BJP MP, criticized the opposition, saying, “They know the no-confidence motion will have no impact, yet they are raising it to stay in the media spotlight. For years, they have been trying to discuss irrelevant issues, such as allegations against the Speaker. The Congress party has lost elections multiple times, and now they are merely seeking headlines.”
He also pointed out that Speaker Om Birla was elected by a majority and that the NDA holds the majority in the house, rendering the opposition’s actions futile.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal remarked, “The opposition has nothing to say, which is why they are disrupting the house. The Lok Sabha Speaker has repeatedly invited them for discussions, but they are wasting time without any valid arguments.”
He further accused the opposition of attempting to obstruct parliamentary proceedings due to their lack of concrete issues.
Meanwhile, JD(U) National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha also criticized the opposition, stating, “We come to the house with issues concerning our regions and the country. The government is always ready for debate on any matter, but the opposition disrupts the proceedings without justification.”
He added that the opposition must accept the fact that they have been out of power for the past 11 years and have been repeatedly rejected by the public.
