Noida Police Arrests Notorious Mobile Snatcher

Noida, February 7: The police have successfully apprehended a notorious criminal in response to the rising incidents of mobile snatching. The Sector-58 Noida police, utilizing local intelligence and electronic surveillance, arrested the suspect involved in mobile phone theft. The accused has been identified as Rishu, son of Satyanarayan, a resident of the Trilokpuri area in Delhi.

According to police reports, Rishu was arrested on February 6 near Sector-62 in Noida. Authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle used in the crime, five mobile phones, and an illegal knife from his possession. The motorcycle, a Splendor, was reported stolen from the Vinod Nagar East area of Delhi, with a prior case registered at the Kalyanpuri East Delhi police station.

During police interrogation, it was revealed that Rishu, along with an accomplice, would ride the stolen motorcycle and snatch mobile phones from pedestrians in various sectors of Noida. The suspect is known to have snatched multiple phones from sectors 57, 58, 60, and 62.

Among the recovered mobile phones is an expensive Apple iPhone 16, which was taken from a person walking in front of the Barclays building in Sector-62. Police records indicate that Rishu has a criminal history, with previous charges of robbery, theft, and illegal possession of weapons filed against him in various police stations in Noida and Delhi.

Currently, a case has been registered against Rishu under Section 317(5) BNS and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act at the Sector-58 Noida police station. Police officials state that efforts are ongoing to apprehend his accomplice, and they are hopeful of making an arrest soon.
