Mumbai Police Investigates Shooting Incident Involving Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh

Mumbai, February 14: Mumbai police have taken significant steps in the investigation of the shooting incident at Rohit Shetty‘s residence and the threats received by Ranveer Singh. The police have recorded statements from both Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh’s manager. Additionally, they have recreated crucial scenes related to the case.

Ranveer Singh received a voice note from an unknown number, where the sender claimed to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and demanded money. Following the incident, Ranveer promptly informed senior police officials. The Mumbai Crime Branch team then approached Ranveer Singh to take his manager’s statement. During the investigation, police inquired whether Ranveer had received any previous threats or if there were any past incidents. The voice note specifically targeted Ranveer’s staff. The police have begun analyzing the voice message and are attempting to trace its source.

Meanwhile, in the shooting case at Rohit Shetty‘s home, the Mumbai Crime Branch recreated the scene of transporting a scooter from Pune to Mumbai. Four accused individuals—Swapnil Sakhat, Aditya Gayki, Siddharth Yenpure, and Samarth Pomaji—were involved in this reenactment. The police replicated every detail, from purchasing the scooter to the route taken from Pune to Mumbai, including stopping points and parking outside Ville Parle station.

During questioning, the accused revealed that after the scooter arrived in Mumbai, the main accused, Shubham Lonkar, gave them an additional ₹11,000. Initially, the police had mentioned ₹40,000, but the investigation revealed a total of ₹51,000 (₹30,000 for the scooter and ₹21,000 for expenses). This entire reenactment was recorded on video and will be presented in court.

Sources indicate that the sixth accused, Praveen Lonkar, is expected to be taken into custody from jail within the next 2-3 days. The main shooter and his accomplice are still at large, and their search is ongoing. The police have applied the MCOCA Act against the accused and have intensified the investigation.
