Mumbai Film Industry on High Alert Amid Gangster Threats

Mumbai, February 5: The Mumbai film industry is once again engulfed in fear and anxiety. Police have heightened their vigilance following the emergence of Shubham Lonkar, a close associate of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a fugitive criminal. According to sources within the Mumbai police, Lonkar has targeted at least five prominent Bollywood figures, making threatening calls to extort money from them.

Despite the tense atmosphere, no film personalities have yet filed complaints with the police. The situation escalated last Sunday when gunfire erupted at the Juhu residence of renowned film director Rohit Shetty. Lonkar has been identified as the mastermind behind this incident, sending shockwaves through the film community.

A senior police officer stated that they have received intelligence indicating that several film stars have received threatening phone calls. However, the lack of formal complaints complicates police action.

Meanwhile, a social media post by Shubham Lonkar has come to the police’s attention. In this post, he explicitly threatened Rohit Shetty, stating, “Ram-Ram, Jai Bajrang Bali. We have messaged Rohit Shetty multiple times to refrain from interfering in our work, but he did not understand. This is just the ‘trailer.’ If he does not comply now, the next bullet will not be outside his house but straight in his chest. This is a warning to the entire Bollywood industry; correct yourselves in time.”

However, Rohit Shetty has informed the police that he has not received any threatening calls or messages. Multiple teams from the crime branch are currently searching for the shooter across various parts of the country.
