Modis Visit to Malaysia Sparks Excitement Among Indian Community

Kuala Lumpur, February 7: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Malaysia for a two-day foreign visit. This marks his first international trip of the year. Invited by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Modi will be in Malaysia on February 7 and 8. The Indian community residing in Malaysia is eagerly anticipating his visit, expressing their excitement for this momentous occasion.

Many members of the Indian community shared their enthusiasm ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival. One community member stated, “I have been living in Malaysia for about seven to eight years, so I am very excited to meet PM Narendra Modi. He is inspiring and has been an icon for us.”

Another member added, “I have been here for the past ten years. I never had the chance to meet PM Modi in India, but I believe I am fortunate to meet him here in Malaysia, outside our country. Hopefully, we will get a chance to take photos with him and receive his blessings. He inspires people all over the world. As NRIs, when we say we are from India, people respond that we are from Modi’s country. We are truly excited to meet him.”

A different community member remarked, “I have been working in Malaysia for the past seven years. Meeting PM Modi in person is an exciting opportunity for us. Many Indians live and work here, and this is a chance for all of us to meet him personally. That’s why we are here. He is traveling the world and strengthening ties with many countries.”

Another individual expressed, “We are very excited. I think around 10,000 to 12,000 people have gathered today. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and, if possible, to meet him. It would be great to meet him. We are eagerly looking forward to this moment. I came here for two days and participated in the decorations.”

One more member stated, “This is a moment of pride for all of us. I am a big fan of PM Modi and I am eagerly waiting to meet him in person.”

Before departing for Malaysia, PM Modi mentioned that the purpose of his visit is to deepen defense and security relations between the two countries and to enhance economic and innovation partnerships.

This is his third visit to the Southeast Asian nation and the first since the bilateral relationship between India and Malaysia was upgraded to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership‘ in August 2024.
