Manchester City Triumphs Over Newcastle United 2-1

London, February 22: Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory against Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium, thanks to two goals from Nico O’Reilly. He scored both goals in the first half, ensuring his team’s win.

In the second half, there were no additional goals from Manchester City, but they successfully prevented Newcastle United from equalizing.

O’Reilly’s first goal marked the 500th home Premier League goal for City since the start of the 2016-17 season. This result extended City’s home winning streak against Newcastle in the Premier League to 17 matches.

At Villa Park, Leeds United disappointed Aston Villa with a 1-1 draw, where Anton Stach scored a stunning free kick to put the visitors ahead.

Leeds held their lead until the 89th minute when Tammy Abraham, who joined in January, scored for Aston Villa, likely dashing their hopes of winning the title.

Chelsea’s attempts to secure a top-four finish were thwarted by a late equalizer from Burnley, resulting in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

João Pedro put Chelsea ahead within four minutes with a low cross from Pedro Neto. However, Wesley Fofana received his second yellow card in the 72nd minute, prompting Chelsea to sit back defensively. Gian Fleming punished them with a header from a precise corner by James Ward-Prowse during injury time.

James Milner made history by playing his 654th Premier League match, as Brighton achieved a crucial 2-0 win against Brentford, with Diego Gomez and Danny Welbeck scoring in the first half.

The match between West Ham and Bournemouth ended in a 0-0 draw, with both teams sharing the points, leaving West Ham still in the relegation zone.
