Mumbai, February 21: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has strongly condemned a shirtless protest by a group of Indian Youth Congress members against the central government and the India-U.S. trade agreement. He described the demonstration as shameful and disgraceful.
In a post on the social media platform X, Fadnavis stated, “It is a matter of great shame that the Congress party has stooped so low. What they did today at the Bharat Mandapam is a clear example of their anti-India actions, which have reached a peak, exposing them once again. This was a planned and organized attempt to disrupt a historic moment for India’s technological leadership. It is utterly disgraceful.”
Fadnavis further emphasized, “We strongly condemn such incidents and demand strict action against those responsible, as this is a serious attempt to tarnish India’s name and honor.”
State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule claimed that the Congress and Rahul Gandhi orchestrated chaos at the AI Summit to damage India’s image, calling it both shameful and disgraceful. He stated, “This is not just a political protest; it is a direct insult to our country’s honor. This entire episode has highlighted the irresponsible and directionless leadership of Congress and Rahul Gandhi.”
Bawankule noted that while leaders and tech experts worldwide praise India, Congress allegedly attempted to undermine the country’s reputation, which critics argue is against national interests.
Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan attacked Congress, asserting that due to Rahul Gandhi, the party has become synonymous with anti-India sentiments. He added that Congress’s attempts to obstruct the development of a progressive India will never succeed, as the nation continues to advance.
Mumbai BJP President Tejinder Singh Tiwana condemned the actions of Congress workers on the international stage. He remarked, “Congress cannot tolerate India’s progress, which is why they have displayed their anti-national mentality through such actions. The behavior of the Congress party is uncivilized and utterly disgraceful.”
He also stated that insulting the Prime Minister and creating international controversies not only goes against democratic values but is also detrimental to the country’s progress and the future of its youth. He urged the Congress party to apologize immediately and called for strict action against those responsible.
