Lok Sabha Proceedings Adjourned, PM Modis Speech Postponed

New Delhi, February 4: The Lok Sabha proceedings have been adjourned until Thursday at 11 AM due to disruptions caused by the opposition. Consequently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech has also been postponed. He was scheduled to respond to a discussion on the thank-you motion at 5 PM today.

Earlier, the House witnessed significant uproar, prompting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to suspend the proceedings multiple times—first until noon, then until 2 PM, and finally until 5 PM.

In a related incident, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu reacted sharply to comments made by Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi within the parliament premises. He accused Gandhi of attempting a physical confrontation.

In an interview with a news agency, Bittu stated, “Not even a street thug would act as Rahul Gandhi did today. When I refused to shake hands, he seemed ready to attack. KC Venugopal and other Congress leaders had to intervene to restrain him. Who knows what could have happened if they hadn’t?”

He added, “If Rahul Gandhi had truly intended to attack, my hands wouldn’t have been tied.”

The minister explained that after the debate, he went inside, questioning how Gandhi could use such inappropriate language and then threaten to approach him again.

Bittu concluded, “Rahul Gandhi is under a misconception. The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have honored me and seated me in front of Congress leaders. His pain is evident when he sees me daily, and it was clear today in both his words and actions.”
