New Delhi, February 12: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati, President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with several prominent leaders, paid their respects. The President noted that the spiritual and educational institutions established by Dayanand Saraswati continue to benefit the nation.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, President Murmu stated, “On the birth anniversary of the great saint and social reformer Swami Dayanand Saraswati, I offer my humble tribute. He provided invaluable guidance to the education system of the entire society and nation while promoting the rational aspects of ancient Indian culture and spirituality.”
She further emphasized, “Our country has always benefited from the spiritual and educational institutions founded by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. Following the path he laid out, may all citizens strive to establish India as a leading nation on the global stage.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recalled Dayanand Saraswati’s contributions to the establishment of the Arya Samaj and his advocacy against social evils and for women’s education. He wrote, “Maharishi Dayanand, the proponent of Swaraj, Swadeshi, and self-reliance, founded the Arya Samaj and raised awareness about the abandonment of social evils and women’s education. Through ‘Satyarth Prakash’, he spread Vedic values to the masses. I bow in reverence on the occasion of Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s birth anniversary.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid tribute to Dayanand Saraswati. In a post on ‘X’, he wrote, “Swami Ji, endowed with immense knowledge and high virtues, dedicated his entire life to the noble works of social upliftment, national awakening, and human welfare. His radiant personality and intellectual vigor will continue to inspire and rejuvenate the nation and society.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed his respect, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the great source of inspiration for the Sanatan tradition and founder of the Arya Samaj, I pay my respects. His invaluable contributions towards equality, education, awareness, and progressive ideas will always remain inspiring and unforgettable.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also honored Dayanand Saraswati, writing on ‘X’, “Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, who guided Indian society towards self-awareness during the colonial era, led an organized intellectual movement against social evils, illiteracy, and discrimination. Through the establishment of the Arya Samaj, he presented the vision of a harmonious, educated, and empowered society based on Vedic values. On his birth anniversary, we remember his reformist thoughts and nation-oriented vision.”
