Amaravati, February 5: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held an important meeting on Wednesday to discuss the latest political developments in the state and the filling of four vacant seats in the Rajya Sabha.
The meeting, which lasted two and a half hours at the Chief Minister’s official residence, covered various pressing issues. The significance of this lengthy discussion increased in light of the opposition YSR Congress Party intensifying its attacks on the coalition government over several matters.
The leaders also addressed recent offensive remarks made by YSR Congress leaders against the Chief Minister and his son, Minister Nara Lokesh, as well as the subsequent attacks on their homes by TDP supporters.
With four Rajya Sabha seats soon to be vacant, Naidu and Kalyan initiated preliminary discussions on seat allocation among the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP. Leaders from both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena discussed improving coordination between the coalition partners, expressing concerns that the YSR Congress is attempting to create divisions among grassroots workers of both parties.
Additionally, the leaders deliberated on filling appointed positions in government bodies. Reports indicate that Naidu and Kalyan agreed to formulate a joint strategy to counter the YSR Congress’s attempts to incite caste-based Politics. They emphasized the need to warn TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP leaders and workers against falling into the YSR Congress’s traps.
It is believed that discussions also included the issue of adulteration in Tirupati laddus, particularly in light of a report presented by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a recently filed charge sheet. According to reports, both leaders considered strategies to combat the YSR Congress, which had attacked the Chief Minister following denials of the presence of animal fat in the ghee used to make the sacred laddus, as mentioned in the charge sheet.
