JNU Student Union Accuses Administration of Authoritarian Policies

New Delhi, February 7: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has accused the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration of imposing repressive policies and adopting a dictatorial attitude. The student organization has taken a firm stance against these actions, claiming that the administration is using expulsions and hefty fines as weapons to crush student movements, which they deem completely undemocratic.

The ABVP stated that attempts by the administration to expel active members and jeopardize their academic futures will not succeed. They strongly oppose the administration’s expulsion regime and fine orders, warning that nationalist students will not back down from such cowardly actions. In a show of defiance, activists burned copies of the repressive orders to express their outrage.

The ABVP has maintained a clear and steadfast position regarding the ‘CPO Manual’ since day one. They argue that this dictatorial manual is detrimental to the university’s free environment and must be revoked immediately. The ABVP has previously registered strong protests against this oppressive regulation. They urged the administration to stop resorting to such black laws to hide its incompetence.

According to the ABVP, the university’s administrative officials have polluted the academic atmosphere at JNU. They firmly oppose any form of vandalism and chaos under the guise of protest. Public property is a heritage of the university, and damaging it is unjustifiable in any form. They condemned the “politics of vandalism” practiced by leftist organizations.

Mayank Panchal, president of ABVP JNU, stated that their main opposition is against the authoritarian framework of the administration that expels students and violates their rights. The fines amounting to nearly ₹483,000 and expulsion orders reflect the administration’s complete failure. The ABVP is steadfast in its demand to abolish the CPO Manual and reinstate expelled members.

Praveen Kumar Piyush, minister of ABVP JNU, asserted that they will neither tolerate the administration’s bullying nor support any form of vandalism on campus. The administration should understand that its strategy to intimidate students will no longer work. Their protest is against these orders. By burning the expulsion and illegal fine orders, they have sent a clear message that they do not recognize this system. The ABVP JNU works for the common students, and their struggle against this dictatorship will continue until ultimate victory.
