Jammu, February 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken a commendable step under its Civic Action Program (CAP) to promote community service and education. On Friday, a Community Outreach event was held at the government primary school in the remote village of Malik-Pur, located in the Miran Sahib police station area. During this event, essential school kits, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and other stationery items, were distributed to underprivileged students.
This initiative reflects the social responsibility of the police in Jammu district, where officials not only maintain law and order but also actively contribute to education and welfare in rural areas. The event featured participation from SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad H. Rather-JKPS, SDPO R.S. Pura Shree Gurmeet Singh-JKPS, and SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Jatinder Singh. They interacted directly with the students, encouraging them to focus on their studies, attend school regularly, and participate in extracurricular activities such as sports and arts.
Officials emphasized to the children that education is the foundation of their future, and it is essential to continue their studies despite poverty or financial difficulties. They assured ongoing support from the Jammu and Kashmir Police for the welfare of poor and needy students. This program falls under the CAP, where the police distribute school kits, sports materials, books, furniture, and other assistance, particularly in border and underdeveloped villages where resources are scarce.
Local community members, parents, and school teachers present at the event praised this initiative. They noted that such support boosts children’s enthusiasm for learning and alleviates the financial burden on families. Parents expressed heartfelt gratitude for the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and hoped that similar activities would continue in the future.
The program has proven to be a means of building trust between the police and the community in Miran Sahib and surrounding areas. The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s CAP program plays a significant role not only in security but also in social development. Such efforts increase the likelihood of better Education for rural children and foster positive changes in society. The police indicated that similar outreach programs will be organized in other villages and schools in the coming times.
