Jammu, February 7: In response to India’s successful test of the Agni-3 missile, Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta hailed it as a symbol of the nation’s growing defense capabilities. He emphasized that the Indian government is fully committed to making the country self-reliant and empowered in the defense sector. Continuous efforts are being made to promote domestically manufactured defense equipment and develop cutting-edge technology.
The successful test of the Agni-3 missile marks a significant step in this direction, further enhancing India’s strategic strength.
Gupta also welcomed the reduction of tariffs imposed by the United States on India to 18 percent. He noted that India represents a large and robust market, which prompted the U.S. to change its stance. Following the increase in tariffs, India sought alternative routes, strengthening its bargaining position.
According to Gupta, this trade deal will benefit farmers in the sectors of fruits, vegetables, and pulses, while consumers will also gain significantly. Overall, this agreement is in India’s best interest and is expected to accelerate the country’s economic growth. He attributed the success of this deal to India’s strong and effective leadership.
Commenting on the recent bombings in Pakistan that resulted in multiple fatalities, Gupta issued a stern statement regarding the situation in Pakistan. He asserted that Pakistan is a nation that promotes terrorism. The conditions there allow the military to operate with complete freedom, and organizations like ISIS remain active.
He remarked that Pakistan lacks a stable and effective government, with officials constantly under pressure. The current Prime Minister could find himself imprisoned, executed, or exiled at any moment. Gupta stated that Pakistan is digging its own grave due to its policies, likening the situation to the myth of the demon Bhishmasur.
In light of India’s victory in the ICC Under-19 World Cup final, Gupta congratulated the nation. He noted that India has made significant progress in sports, with initiatives like ‘Khelo India’ and encouragement from Prime Minister Modi boosting athletes’ confidence. He pointed out that India’s medal tally has consistently increased over the past few years, establishing a strong global presence in various sports, including cricket.
