India Makes History with T20 World Cups 10th Consecutive Win

New Delhi, February 13: India achieved a remarkable milestone on Thursday by defeating Namibia by 93 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This victory marks India’s 10th consecutive win in the T20 World Cup, a record unmatched by any other nation in the tournament’s history.

South Africa and Australia follow closely, each having secured 8 consecutive wins. South Africa achieved this feat in 2024, while Australia matched it between 2022 and 2024. England won 7 consecutive T20 World Cup matches from 2010 to 2012, and India had a streak of 7 wins from 2012 to 2014.

This match also represents India’s largest victory margin in T20 World Cup history. Previously, India won by 90 runs against England in Colombo in 2012. In 2014, they defeated Australia by 73 runs, and in 2022, they won against Zimbabwe by 71 runs. In 2024, India triumphed over England by 68 runs.

In the recent match, India scored 209 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, thanks to outstanding performances from Ishan Kishan (61) and Hardik Pandya (52). From the Namibian side, Gerhard Erasmus took the most wickets, claiming 4. Ben Shikongo, JJ Smuts, and Bernard Scholtz each took 1 wicket.

Namibia struggled in response, collapsing for just 116 runs in 18.2 overs. Lauren Steinkamp was the top scorer for Namibia with 29 runs, while Jan Frylinck contributed 22 runs. Varun Chakravarthy was the standout bowler for India, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel each took 1 wicket, while Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, and Jasprit Bumrah also claimed 1 wicket each.
