India AI Impact Summit 2026: A Historic Step for Tech Power

New Delhi, February 25: Professor Sanjay Singh Baghel from Delhi University described the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, as a historic initiative for India. He emphasized that just as the country became a global IT powerhouse in the 1990s by adopting information technology (IT) promptly, artificial intelligence (AI) is set to guide India into a new era.

Professor Baghel stated that the summit represents a significant step for India’s vision. He noted that the government’s timely acceptance of IT in the 1990s has led to the current prominence of the sector. Notable figures like Sundar Pichai from Google and Arvind Krishna from IBM emerged from that era. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the largest Global AI Summit has successfully taken place in India.

He suggested that instead of calling it a global AI summit, it might be more fitting to refer to it as the Global Accelerate India Summit. This name reflects the summit’s goal of rapidly advancing India’s development. He warned that if India does not capitalize on this opportunity in the next four years, it risks falling behind in the global race.

The world recognizes that the future lies in AI, automation, and quantum computing. It is well-known that Indian talent possesses some of the best minds in software development. If this talent is directed towards AI, India could transition from being a consumer to a manufacturer in the global market. This moment presents a unique opportunity for India to showcase its capabilities on the world stage.
