This announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 69th National School Games Under-19 Girls Handball Tournament held in Ghumarwin, Bilaspur district.
While addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing world-class education, enabling local students to compete globally.
Under the new regulations, students will no longer be allowed to bring mobile phones onto school premises.
The Chief Minister detailed strict enforcement measures, reiterating that any student caught with a phone will incur a ₹500 fine and have their device confiscated.

In addition to academic reforms, CM Sukhu highlighted efforts to promote sports and sports tourism in the state.
He announced that the government will provide employment opportunities for female athletes participating in the Asian Games. Celebrating the Himachal team’s victory at the National Handball Championship, he declared a cash prize of ₹2 million.
