Gujarat Set to Benefit from Central Budget 2026-27

Gandhinagar, February 6: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced on Thursday that Gujarat stands to gain significantly from the Central Budget 2026-27, which focuses on accelerating economic growth, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting inclusive development.

Addressing a press conference, Patel described the budget as a strong foundation for building a developed India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He emphasized that the budget is guided by three key priorities: promoting sustainable economic growth, encouraging active public participation in national prosperity through capacity building, and advancing inclusive development across all sectors.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the budget allocates ₹10,000 crore for the Bio-Pharma Strength Program, aimed at establishing India as a global hub for bio-pharma manufacturing.

He noted that Gujarat, being a leader in the pharmaceutical sector, will also benefit from this initiative.

Furthermore, he mentioned that six new schemes supporting the textile sector will boost the state’s textile industry.

Patel underscored the role of over 4.2 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are considered the backbone of Gujarat’s Economy.

He stated that the Central Budget includes the announcement of a ₹10,000 crore SME fund to create ‘Champion MSMEs’, providing direct benefits and improved liquidity to this sector.

Regarding infrastructure, Patel mentioned that Gujarat is progressing as a semiconductor hub with four plants and will benefit from the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 announced in the budget.

The Chief Minister also referenced reforms made under the PM Gati Shakti initiative, which includes a dedicated freight corridor from Dankuni to Surat, enhancing trade and logistics efficiency for the state’s industries.
