Grand Ram Leela to Showcase Indian Culture in Moscow on February 20

Lucknow, February 15: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the fame of the Ram Temple and its associated events in Ayodhya is now reaching far beyond National borders. Inspired by the cultural vision of the Yogi government and the spiritual renaissance in Ayodhya, a grand Ram Leela will be held in Moscow on February 20.

This performance draws inspiration from the recent Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya and is being organized in a divine and magnificent manner. It is seen as a new chapter in India-Russia cultural relations.

The Ram Leela, supported by the Indian Embassy in Russia and the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre (JNCC), will feature Russian artists in key roles. Evgeny will portray Ram, Daria will play Sita, Murat will take on the role of Lakshman, and Dmitry will depict Hanuman, bringing Indian faith to life on stage.

The event is primarily organized by the Russian-Indian Friendship Organization ‘Disha.’ Under the leadership of Dr. Rameshwar Singh, this organization has been building a cultural bridge between India and Russia through theatrical performances, cultural festivals, and educational initiatives. He emphasized that the Ram Leela is not just a religious event but conveys a universal message of truth, respect, and ideal living, which has sparked significant interest among Russian audiences.

Since Yogi Adityanath became Chief Minister, Ayodhya’s Deepotsav has gained global recognition. The images of Ayodhya illuminated by millions of lamps have captivated cultural organizations and artists worldwide.

The Yogi government has provided a platform for the Russian artists’ team to showcase their talent during the Ayodhya Deepotsav. This team has already made a mark with their Ram Leela presentation. The organizers and artists from Russia were so impressed by the spiritual aura and grandeur of the event in Ayodhya that they decided to replicate that experience in Moscow.

The tradition of Ram Leela has a notable history in India-Russia cultural relations. In the 1960s, Soviet actor Padma Shri Genadi Mikhailovich Pechanikov staged Ram Leela in Moscow, enhancing the emotional connection between the two nations. This initiative will play a crucial role in emotionally linking the people of both countries.

Dr. Rameshwar Singh, leading the event, stated that this program is being organized with the special cooperation of Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar. He noted that the Deepotsav and cultural renaissance initiated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Ayodhya are now showing global impact. The Ram Leela in Moscow is inspired by the celebrations in Ayodhya.

Preparations for the grand stage setup, traditional costumes, and music for the Ram Leela in Moscow are underway. A large number of Russian citizens, members of the Indian community, and cultural personalities will attend the event. As the life of Lord Ram unfolds on stage, the atmosphere will be filled with the devotion, respect, and ideals of Indian culture. This event will serve as a powerful example of unity between the two nations through theatrical performances, festivals, and educational initiatives.
