Government Strengthens Business Ease Across Sectors, Says PM Modi

New Delhi, March 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Monday that the government is enhancing BUSINESS ease across all sectors, from modernizing the tax system to bankruptcy reforms.

Speaking at the India-Canada CEO Forum, PM Modi remarked, “India is currently among the fastest-growing economies in the world. This is due to strong domestic demand, a young population, significant investments, and rapidly increasing digitization. It is the result of our reform express.”

He further emphasized, “From policy simplification to Production-Linked Incentives (PLI), and from logistics modernization to tax and bankruptcy reforms, we are strengthening the ease of doing business in every sector.”

Addressing the CEOs from both countries, PM Modi noted that while both governments can create frameworks, it is up to the business leaders to implement them on the ground.

He highlighted that the combined economies of India and Canada exceed $6 trillion, stating that the true strength of both nations lies in their shared objectives.

PM Modi suggested that clean energy should be a priority for both countries. He announced a partnership in the nuclear energy sector today.

India and Canada have signed a $2.6 billion uranium deal, which is seen as a milestone in their economic partnership. This agreement will help India secure a long-term supply of fuel for its civilian nuclear energy program.

Both leaders agreed that this deal would strengthen cooperation in the field of clean and reliable energy. They also expressed their commitment to collaborate on new technologies such as small modular reactors and advanced nuclear reactors.

In addition to the uranium agreement, India and Canada decided to expedite negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
