February 26 Panchang: Auspicious Times and Rituals for Thursday

New Delhi, February 25: The Panchang holds significant importance in Sanatan Dharma, as it indicates auspicious and inauspicious times for various activities. February 26 marks a Thursday dedicated to Narayan and the divine teacher Brihaspati. On this day, the Shukla Paksha’s Dashami Tithi will last until 12:33 AM, after which the Ekadashi will begin.

The Panchang consists of five components: Tithi, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yog, and Karan, each holding its unique significance. According to the Drik Panchang, the Nakshatra on February 26 will be Mrigashira until 12:11 PM, followed by Ardra. The Yog, known as Preeti, will remain until 10:33 PM. This day is characterized by Ravi Yog, which is considered highly auspicious. Sunrise will occur at 6:49 AM, and sunset will be at 6:19 PM.

These five elements assist in determining the Muhurat, with the Abhijit Muhurat from 12:11 PM to 12:57 PM and the Vijay Muhurat from 2:29 PM to 3:15 PM, both ideal for auspicious activities. The Brahma Muhurat is set from 5:09 AM to 5:59 AM, while the Godhuli Muhurat will be from 6:16 PM to 6:42 PM. The Amrit Kaal will last from 1:23 AM to 2:53 AM, with Ravi Yog effective throughout the day.

The Panchang also highlights inauspicious times to avoid starting new ventures. Rahu Kaal will occur from 2:00 PM to 3:27 PM, Yamagand from 6:49 AM to 8:16 AM, and Gulika Kaal from 9:42 AM to 11:08 AM. The Durmuhurta is from 10:39 AM to 11:25 AM, during which caution is advised.

Thursday is dedicated to both Narayan and Brihaspati. Special prayers and donations to Narayan are recommended on this day. Consuming yellow foods, wearing yellow clothing, and applying yellow sandalwood or turmeric on the forehead are considered beneficial.
