Delhi Government Approves ₹1,200 Crore Grant for DTC Employees

New Delhi, February 8: The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, has approved a grant of ₹1,200 crore for the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). This initiative by the Delhi government will provide significant relief to thousands of serving employees and pensioners, while also promoting the integration of technology in public transport, an official announced on Sunday.

According to an official statement, this grant is expected to strengthen technology-based initiatives aimed at improving traffic management and urban mobility in the capital.

Of the total allocation released by the finance department, ₹1,100 crore is earmarked for the payment of salaries, pensions, and other statutory dues for DTC employees and pensioners.

The remaining ₹100 crore has been allocated for the modernization of transport and the adoption of advanced technology to ensure smooth traffic flow and promote sustainable mobility.

The Chief Minister emphasized that DTC is not just a fleet of buses but a system that facilitates the daily lives of millions of citizens. The government is committed to strengthening this system while maintaining the welfare and dignity of its employees and pensioners.

Speaking about this decision, the Chief Minister stated that the grant reflects the government’s commitment to the respect and financial security of DTC employees and pensioners.

She noted that DTC employees work tirelessly under all circumstances to keep Delhi running smoothly, and the government has ensured that senior pensioners and serving employees never have to wait for their rightful payments.

Chief Minister Gupta remarked that DTC and its employees are the lifeline of Delhi’s public transport system. She added that timely payment of salaries and pensions will provide financial stability to employees and their families, thereby strengthening trust in the system.
