Chinas Internet User Base Reaches 1.125 Billion by 2025

Beijing, February 6: The China Internet Network Information Center released its 57th statistical report on internet development in China on February 5 in Beijing. According to the data, by December 2025, the number of internet users in China is expected to reach 1.125 billion, with internet penetration exceeding 80 percent.

The report indicates a steady increase in both the total number of internet users and the coverage rate, with a more balanced penetration rate between urban and rural areas. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China has achieved significant milestones in internet development.

China’s new infrastructure development is progressing ahead of schedule. In terms of mobile networks, over 4.8 million 5G base stations have been established, covering more than 330 cities with the 5G development network. In computing power infrastructure, China ranks among the world’s top countries, strongly supporting the rapid growth of its artificial intelligence industry.

Additionally, new engines for artificial intelligence development continue to take shape. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are expanding and playing a crucial role in strengthening and solidifying the industrial supply chain.
