
Beijing, February 8: The third China-Turkey Economic and Trade Forum was held in Istanbul, Turkey. Representatives from both countries discussed economic and trade development opportunities and explored new avenues for collaboration.
Ren Hongpin, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs and delivered a speech at the forum.
He emphasized that the ancient Silk Road has closely connected China and Turkey, laying a strong foundation for cooperation and vast potential between the two nations. Examples of successful China-Turkey collaboration include the China-Europe Railway Express passing through Turkey, the high-speed railway from Ankara to Istanbul built by Chinese enterprises, and the growing popularity of Turkish products like pistachios in China.
Ren Hongpin stated that the CCPIT is ready to enhance complementary benefits with all sectors of Turkey, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote the practical and profound development of China-Turkey relations.
Turkey’s Trade Minister, Omar Bolat, confirmed the fruitful outcomes of Turkey-China economic and trade relations in his speech. He noted that China is a significant trade partner for Turkey, with immense potential for collaboration in supply chains. Turkey looks forward to advancing tourism cooperation with China. The co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative has become a crucial step in Turkey-China collaboration. Turkey welcomes an increase in Chinese investment and hopes that Turkish companies will gain greater access to the Chinese market.
Chinese Ambassador to Turkey, Yang Xuepin, and the president of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board, Nail Olpak, also delivered speeches. Over 300 representatives from various sectors of China and Turkey participated in the forum.
