Beijing, February 7: The spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce, He Yatong, stated during a press conference that China will steadily advance towards quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan while expanding high-level foreign openness.
He emphasized that China will firmly protect the multilateral trading system and strengthen economic and trade relations based on equality and mutual benefits with various countries. This approach aims to provide a better outlook for long-term development for foreign-funded enterprises in China.
He Yatong noted that by 2025, investment from South Korea in China’s manufacturing sector increased by 14.1% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, investments from Canada in China’s high-tech sector rose by 11.7%, while Finland’s investment in the manufacturing industry grew by 21.7%. The UK’s investment in China also saw a significant increase of 15.9%.
He mentioned that from 2026, leaders from South Korea, Canada, Finland, and the UK will visit China with delegations to enhance mutual understanding and deepen economic and trade cooperation, thereby strengthening the confidence of multinational companies in China.
