Central Minister Promises Compensation for Hail-Damaged Crops in Madhya Pradesh

Gwalior, February 5: Central Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia visited Ashoknagar district in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday to meet with farmers whose crops were recently devastated by hailstorms. He assured them of full support from the state government during this challenging time.

During his visit to the Nalheda area, part of the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, Scindia listened to the farmers’ concerns about their severely damaged crops. He reassured them that the state government stands with them and will not leave them alone in their time of need.

Accompanied by local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and revenue officials, Scindia instructed the district administration to conduct an immediate survey of the affected areas to accurately assess the damage and ensure prompt relief and compensation for eligible farmers.

He emphasized that this disaster is not just a loss of crops but a significant blow to the hard work and hopes of the farmers. Therefore, he urged the administration to ensure that the assistance process is transparent, straightforward, and timely, preventing farmers from making unnecessary trips to government offices.

Scindia stated, “This natural disaster is a major setback for our farmers’ hard work, hopes, and year-long efforts. I have visited the fields, assessed the destroyed crops, and communicated with farmers to understand the ground realities. I have given clear instructions to the administration for immediate relief, surveys, and compensation.”

He reiterated the government’s unwavering support for farmers, echoing the commitments made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Scindia stressed the importance of providing timely and effective assistance to those affected by this natural disaster.

On the same day, Chief Minister Yadav directed officials to assess the damage caused by unseasonal rains and instructed district administrations to take all necessary measures to protect farmers from losses due to adverse weather conditions.

Unseasonal rains and hailstorms have devastated standing crops in several parts of Madhya Pradesh, prompting Chief Minister Yadav to order physical surveys for compensating affected farmers across the state.
