Mumbai, February 6: “Border-2” is making waves at the box office, surpassing the impressive milestone of 250 crores in earnings. The film’s success can be attributed not only to the lead characters but also to the significant contributions of the supporting cast.
Actor Vansh R. Bhardwaj, who plays the role of Subedar Santram, has won fans over with his remarkable performance. Although his role is relatively small, it has resonated deeply with the audience. Recently, Bhardwaj shared his experiences regarding “Border-2.”
Reflecting on receiving the offer for the film, Bhardwaj expressed, “My initial feeling was disbelief. I couldn’t really believe that I was going to be part of ‘Border.’ It felt surreal. The second feeling was excitement. When I learned that the shooting schedule would be short, my enthusiasm soared even higher.”
Discussing his character, Bhardwaj noted, “The legacy of the first film is immense. Many people and children were inspired to join the armed forces after watching the original ‘Border.’ I hope this film continues that legacy. It is a significant responsibility because we represent those who protect our nation. Standing for them is a great duty for all of us.”
He further elaborated on his character’s nature, stating, “My character is very calm and thoughtful. He has a deep understanding of life and reads the Gita, which his mother gifted him. Reading the Gita enhances one’s understanding of life and emphasizes the importance of restraint and balance. This sense of peace defines my character, Santram. In real life, I am also naturally calm, though I can get a bit excited about certain things. Overall, this sense of tranquility is present in my life as well.”
On the preparations for his role in “Border-2,” Bhardwaj mentioned, “Fitness has always been a crucial part of my life. As an athlete since childhood, my routine has revolved around it. Physical preparation was not difficult. The real challenge was understanding the internal world of a soldier. Capturing the emotions of someone willing to sacrifice everything, who doesn’t know if they will see the next morning, yet steps onto the battlefield with pride and enthusiasm, was the true test.”
He added, “Soldiers live with the mindset that they may have the opportunity to fight for their country, even at the cost of their lives. Translating that mentality into my character was the most challenging aspect. My career began in theater. Discussing the differences between film and theater, he stated, ‘Theater has been a part of my life since childhood. I don’t differentiate between theater and film because the core elements are the same. Regardless of the medium, I am an actor and an artist. Sometimes, you prepare physically first, then understand the psychological aspects.’”
