Blue Tigresses Defeat Zvezda-2005 Perm 2-0 in Turkey Friendly

New Delhi, February 5: The Indian senior women’s national football team secured a 2-0 victory against the Russian team Zvezda-2005 Perm in a friendly match held at the S&B Sport Football Complex in Antalya, Turkey, on Wednesday.

Anju Tamang scored the opening goal in the ninth minute, followed by Linda Kom Sertoo, who sealed the win with a goal in the 89th minute. This match was part of the Blue Tigresses’ preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026, marking their fifth friendly encounter in Antalya.

Previously, the team had achieved a 1-0 victory against the German side Hertha BSC Frauen and played to a 0-0 draw against WFC Spartak Moscow in the first match of their four-game friendly series. Grace Dangmei scored the decisive goal in the 37th minute, continuing the team’s preparation campaign ahead of the Asian Cup.

India will play their final match in Turkey against Romania’s FFK Siksereada Mircuria Siuk on February 7 before departing for Australia on February 10.

The Blue Tigresses are currently training in Antalya as part of their continental tournament preparations and will continue their training until the first week of February, after which they will head to Perth, Australia.

They will kick off their Asian Cup Group C campaign against Vietnam on March 4 at the Perth Rectangular Stadium, followed by matches against Japan on March 7 in Perth and Chinese Taipei on March 10 in Sydney.
