Bihars Deputy CM Emphasizes Land Survey as Key to Development

Patna, February 5: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, reiterated the goals set for the land survey during a press conference on Thursday. He asserted that the land survey is a permanent solution to many complex and longstanding issues in the state.

While speaking to reporters at Patna Airport, Sinha described the land survey as a collective responsibility. He emphasized that both the government and society must work together in this direction. Sinha noted that the vision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is that Bihar can only progress when it is free from minor yet fundamental issues.

He stated that it is our duty to provide a problem-free Bihar for future generations. The land survey is not merely an administrative process; it will reduce family disputes, strengthen social peace, and promote harmony within society. He highlighted that having clear land records will eliminate land-related conflicts, fostering peace and stability from villages to cities.

In response to a question about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee representing herself in the Supreme Court, Sinha launched a sharp critique. He claimed that if Banerjee truly cared for the nation and Bengal, her priorities would be different. He accused her of being more concerned with power than with the welfare of society, Bengal, or the nation, stating that her decisions reflect a lack of public interest in her agenda.

Regarding Upendra Kushwaha’s demand to rename Patna to Pataliputra, the Deputy CM acknowledged its historical and cultural significance. He remarked that Pataliputra is a historic name and was the identity of the region in ancient times. He added that Patna is named after the goddess Patan Devi, reflecting its religious significance. He reminded everyone that this area was the capital of Magadh and a major focal point of undivided India.

Sinha further stated that every citizen has the right to know about and take pride in the historical and cultural heritage of Pataliputra. There should be no objections or issues when people discuss their glorious past.
