
Patna, February 9: Bihar’s Minister Shreyasi Singh has lauded Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his explosive innings in the U-19 World Cup final. Suryavanshi scored an impressive 175 runs off 80 balls against England, helping India set a formidable total.
Minister Singh expressed pride in Suryavanshi’s talent, noting that he has made a name for himself at such a young age. She hopes to see him donning the senior Indian team jersey soon. In his remarkable innings, Suryavanshi did not give the English bowlers any chance to recover.
Discussing sports infrastructure, Minister Singh emphasized the need for development that nurtures young talent not just from Bihar, but from across India. She highlighted the construction of two international cricket grounds in Bihar. Efforts are also underway to enhance infrastructure for Olympic events. The initiative ‘Medal Lao, Naukri Pao’ is no longer just a plan on paper; it has become a reality in Bihar.
She confidently stated that if India hosts the Olympics in 2036, many athletes from Jamui and Bihar will participate. Continuous efforts are being made to improve sports infrastructure. Singh is committed to advancing this vision, ensuring quality in sports. Both male and female athletes are making significant strides in the field.
The minister believes it is essential for more young talents to emerge.
