
Patna, February 4: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an inspection of the ongoing renovation works at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Wednesday.
During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the Health facilities provided in the newly constructed Emergency Building (Phase 1), specifically on the first floor of the Radiology Department. It was reported that the Radiology Department is equipped with world-class CT scan and MRI machines, along with all necessary amenities.
Upon reaching the fifth floor of the new Emergency Building, the Chief Minister also inspected the health facilities available in the Pediatric Department. Following this, he assessed the ongoing redevelopment and construction works within the hospital premises. Kumar sought detailed information from officials regarding the progress and current status of the renovation and construction activities at PMCH.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining construction quality and safety standards, instructing that medical facilities should be modernized while ensuring housing for doctors. The Chief Minister stated, “It is essential that patients face no difficulties and receive advanced medical facilities.”
Additionally, he mentioned, “Housing arrangements will also be made for students, teachers, doctors, and nursing staff at PMCH. The hospital is being expanded to accommodate 5,462 beds, ensuring all modern medical facilities are in place.”
Kumar also reviewed the development of parks and beautification projects along JP Ganga Path. Present during the inspection were the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Health Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, and the Chief Minister’s Secretary Kumar Ravi.
