
New Delhi, February 8: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited frontline areas in Jammu and Kashmir to assess ongoing anti-terror operations and the current security situation. During his visit, he evaluated ground conditions and engaged in detailed discussions regarding the preparedness of security forces.
On Sunday, the Indian Army reported that General Dwivedi was briefed on the effectiveness of anti-terror operations, the security grid, and measures taken to maintain continuous vigilance. The discussions also emphasized the integration of advanced technologies to enhance coordination and operational capabilities among various agencies.
Notably, there is a strong focus on incorporating advanced and modern technologies to bolster the operational capacity of the Army. General Dwivedi received updates on these technologies, security arrangements, vigilance measures, and the progress of ongoing operations. He praised the readiness, dedication, and professionalism of the soldiers deployed in challenging conditions, stressing the importance of maintaining high levels of preparedness to ensure national security.
General Dwivedi visited the Counter Insurgency Force (R) under the White Knight Corps in Jammu and Kashmir to understand the current security landscape. Effective coordination among different agencies has been established across the region, enabling continuous vigilance to timely address and neutralize any threats.
The Army is consistently adopting better strategies in collaboration with other security agencies. There is also a strong emphasis on enhancing the operational capabilities of soldiers through the adoption of new and modern technologies. General Dwivedi commended the soldiers for their dedication, stating that they fulfill their duties with commitment, professionalism, and responsibility, even in difficult circumstances.
This visit conveyed a clear message that the Indian Army remains fully alert and prepared, operating with strength in even the most complex areas to ensure the nation’s security. General Dwivedi also interacted with veterans in Poonch during this visit.
During the discussions, experiences from military service, current welfare initiatives, and the contributions of veterans to nation-building were addressed. The Chief of Army Staff also met with Veer Naris and representatives of civil administration in the Poonch Brigade. This dialogue was characterized by goodwill and mutual respect, highlighting the deep and lasting relationship between the serving leadership and the Indian Army’s veteran community.
