
Mumbai, February 4: The popular action-thriller film ‘Pukar’ marks its 26th anniversary today. On this occasion, actor Anil Kapoor took to social media to reminisce about the film’s memorable moments.
In an Instagram post, Kapoor expressed his fondness for the song “Sunta Hai Mera Khuda.” He shared a clip of the song in his stories, writing, “Celebrating 26 years of ‘Pukar.’ It’s my favorite track, which I listen to repeatedly.”
The song features vocals by Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, and Swarnalata, with lyrics penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri and Javed Akhtar, while the music was composed by A.R. Rahman.
Released in 2000, ‘Pukar’ was directed by the renowned Ram Gopal Varma. The film stars Anil Kapoor alongside Madhuri Dixit and Namrata Shirodkar. It tells the story of Major Jaidev, who is always ready to serve his country. Jealousy complicates his love story, putting his life at risk, leading him to fight for his nation’s honor.
The film received two National Film Awards, including the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, and was well-received by audiences.
Anil Kapoor will soon appear in the web series ‘Family Business.’ Directed by Hansal Mehta, the series revolves around power, blood relations, and betrayal in a high-stakes corporate drama. This marks the first time Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma will share the screen.
The series features a talented cast, including Akash Khurana, Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia, Anant Nag, Kanwaljeet Singh, Dhruv Sehgal, Nandish Sandhu, Tina Desai, and Raima Sen.
