Al-Falah University Chairman Arrested Amid Ongoing Investigations

New Delhi, February 5: Al-Falah University in Faridabad is once again under scrutiny by investigative agencies. In a recent operation, the Delhi Police arrested the university’s chairman, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui. Following his arrest, he was presented in court, which granted a four-day police remand for further questioning. The Delhi Police Crime Branch is conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter.

According to sources, the Crime Branch has registered two separate FIRs related to this case. Investigators are probing serious allegations against Siddiqui, and the police sought remand to question him. The court approved this request. During the remand, Siddiqui will be interrogated on several critical points concerning the university’s administration, financial transactions, and other activities. Authorities hope that this questioning will reveal significant facts related to the case.

It is noteworthy that Al-Falah University has previously been under investigation by central agencies. The institution has been embroiled in controversy since anti-terrorism agencies uncovered a module involving doctors working there. One of the doctors was allegedly involved in a car explosion near the Red Fort on November 10, 2025.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a charge sheet against Siddiqui and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, concerning Al-Falah Charitable Trust/Al-Falah University and its associated entities. The ED reported that approximately 54 acres of land and constructions worth around ₹139.97 crores (approximately) have been seized in this case.

According to the ED, Siddiqui had complete control over Al-Falah Charitable Trust, Al-Falah University (including the Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research Center), and related entities, making him the primary beneficiary of illegal earnings. As the managing trustee and chancellor, he maintained full administrative, financial, and operational control while using nominal/proxy individuals for other positions. He was also responsible for the medical college’s operations, which included violations of NMC regulations and obtaining approvals/certifications through misinformation and concealment of essential facts.
