Mumbai, February 4: The recently released film ‘Border 2’ is making waves at the box office. Audiences are responding positively, particularly praising Ahaan Shetty’s performance. In the film, Ahaan portrays an Indian Navy officer. In a recent interview, he shared insights about his preparation and training for the role.
Ahaan revealed that his PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) license was invaluable during the training for the film. The PADI license is an internationally recognized scuba diving certification. To obtain it, individuals must study theory, practice in a swimming pool, and complete open water dives. This certification allows divers to safely explore depths of up to 18 meters underwater.
“I earned this license during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. I was part of the swimming team in school, so being in the water has always felt natural to me. When I learned that there would be underwater scenes in the film, I was thrilled. It was more of an exciting experience than a challenge for me,” Ahaan stated.
He added, “When director Anurag Singh narrated the story, I realized that the underwater sequences would be a crucial part of the film. That’s why I started training about two months before shooting began, ensuring I could work underwater for extended periods without any issues. This preparation was incredibly helpful during filming.”
Ahaan noted, “Underwater shooting isn’t easy for everyone. Many people feel anxious about staying underwater for long durations, especially those not accustomed to such training. However, during the shoot, an experienced dive team and safety crew were always present, which made the entire process very safe and organized. Now, when I see those scenes on screen, I feel my hard work has paid off.”
