Adani Mangalam Service Celebrates One Year of Empowering Women

Ahmedabad, February 6: Adani Mangalam Service marked its first anniversary on Thursday by honoring and providing opportunities to 500 women with disabilities.

The initiative was announced by Diva and Jeet Adani during their wedding on February 5 last year, pledging to enhance social security for women with disabilities.

Operated by the Adani Foundation, the Social Welfare and development arm of the Adani Group, this program supports women aged 25 to 40 with disabilities. These women have been identified by project partner Youth for Jobs and possess unique disability ID cards.

According to a statement from the Adani Foundation, “In its first year, this initiative has fulfilled its promise to assist 500 women with disabilities. A fixed deposit of 1 million rupees has been made for each beneficiary, ensuring a monthly income and long-term financial security.”

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed his heartfelt wishes for Jeet and Diva on social media platform X, noting that they are celebrating one year of their marital life. He reflected on their commitment to the Mangalam Service, which aims to provide 1 million rupees in financial support to 500 newly married women with disabilities each year. He expressed immense satisfaction and gratitude for this ongoing dedication.

He further stated that this initiative has brought dignity and new hope to many families. “When a daughter regains her smile and confidence, the joy of that moment surpasses any worldly achievement,” he added. As a father, he feels blessed that his children are contributing to the happiness and hope of many families.

Adani prayed that this spirit of service continues to bring joy, dignity, and new hope to families, and that Jeet and Diva keep moving forward on this path.

Under the Adani Mangalam Service, each beneficiary receives a fixed deposit of 1 million rupees with the support of the State Bank of India. This arrangement guarantees a monthly income for beneficiaries, with the option to withdraw the principal amount after ten years.

The initiative is set to continue for at least five years, providing assistance to 500 women with disabilities each year, with an annual budget of 500 million rupees.

The celebration took place at the Belvedere Club Lawn in Shantigram, marking the completion of one year of Adani Mangalam Service.

On this occasion, Dr. Preeti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, stated, “The inspiration for Adani Mangalam Service stems from the belief that personal happiness is most meaningful when shared for the welfare of society. This is not just a program; it is a sentiment and responsibility.”

During the event, Gautam Adani also launched a book based on Adani Mangalam Service, featuring stories of change and empowerment.
