New Delhi, March 4: The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East. Due to the current circumstances, a total of 1,221 flights from Indian airlines and 388 from foreign airlines have been canceled.
According to the ministry, Indian airlines have made careful adjustments to their schedules. Long and ultra-long-haul flights are being gradually resumed via alternative routes, avoiding restricted airspace.
Special arrangements are being made to facilitate the movement of stranded passengers. Airlines are deploying additional capacity and coordinating with foreign aviation authorities and Indian embassies to ensure safe and organized travel. Today, Indian airlines are operating a total of 24 flights, while Emirates and Etihad have conducted 9 flights from the Gulf region in the past 24 hours.
For March 4, Indian airlines have planned 58 flights, with 30 operated by IndiGo and 23 by Air India and Air India Express.
Foreign airlines operating between India and the Gulf region are also providing limited services, depending on operational and airspace conditions.
The ministry has emphasized that passenger safety is the top priority. All airlines have been instructed to maintain transparent communication with passengers and adhere to rules regarding refunds, rescheduling, and other assistance.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation is in constant contact with airlines and is monitoring airfares to prevent unnecessary price hikes during this period.
Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport and to rely only on official sources for information.
The ministry stated that it is coordinating with airlines, airport operators, regulatory authorities, and the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure safe operations, a systematic restoration of services, and the convenience of affected passengers.
Further information will be provided as necessary.
