Bihar Police on High Alert for Holi Celebrations

Patna, February 28: Bihar Police has announced a zero-tolerance policy against mischief and disturbances during Holi. Additional police forces have been deployed in all major cities and sensitive locations across the state.

The police are taking strict action against bike gangs, road racers, and other disruptive elements during the festival. Officials stated that anyone attempting to incite riots or disorder under the guise of the celebration will face severe consequences.

Extra police personnel have been stationed in all districts to maintain law and order. DGP Vinay Kumar has instructed district police chiefs to implement stringent preventive measures in light of the festivities. Police station officers have been asked to identify sensitive areas within their jurisdictions and remain extra vigilant.

Control rooms have been established in each district to monitor the situation at two-hour intervals. Any unpleasant incidents will be reported immediately to the DGP control room.

Additional Inspector General (Law and Order) Pankaj Kumar Darad has directed all SPs and SSPs to deploy adequate forces and executive magistrates in mixed-population areas, religious sites, and historically sensitive regions.

The police headquarters has emphasized reviewing incidents from the last three Holi celebrations, monitoring old disputes and land conflicts, and ensuring fair action against disruptive elements from all communities under the relevant sections of BNS and CRPC.

Authorities have been advised not to take minor communal incidents lightly. In case of a serious situation, senior district officials are expected to reach the scene personally. Strict legal action will be taken against religious organizations or individuals spreading rumors or hate.

The process of gathering intelligence has been expedited, and suspicious antisocial elements will be monitored as necessary. Additional security measures have been ordered in riot-affected districts. Special vigilance will be maintained at police posts, stations, jails, railway sections, government buildings, and establishments.

To prevent incidents of drugging and robbery targeting migrant workers during Holi, train monitoring will also be intensified.

To maintain peace during the festival, 12 companies of Range Reserve Force, 31 companies of Bihar Armed Police Force, 2,768 PT constable trainees (currently training at Rajgir Police Academy), 5,100 home guards, and three companies of Central Armed Police Force have been deployed.

The highest number of forces has been stationed in Patna, including three companies from the Range Reserve Force, three from Bihar Armed Police, 535 newly recruited constables, and 400 home guards.

Significant deployments have also been made in Darbhanga, Begusarai, Jamui, Munger, Rohtas, Buxar, Gaya, and Motihari, with additional forces assigned to other districts as needed.
