Amit Shah Inaugurates SSB Border Post in Araria, Bihar

Patna, February 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Araria on Thursday. He will participate in an event at the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) border post in the Letti area, ahead of conducting a security assessment in the region.

After inaugurating the border post in Letti, Shah will hold a comprehensive review meeting at the Araria Collectorate. This meeting will involve district magistrates and police superintendents from seven border districts to discuss matters related to the India-Nepal Border.

The agenda will also include discussions on the implementation and progress of the Vibrant Village Program.

On February 27, the Home Minister will meet with officials in Purnia to further discuss issues concerning the border districts. Following the final round of review meetings, he will depart for New Delhi.

This visit is deemed significant for strengthening border security, monitoring the status of key development projects, and ensuring administrative coordination in districts that are considered sensitive due to their proximity to international borders.

Officials have finalized logistical arrangements for the visit, and extensive security measures have been implemented in light of the high-profile tour.

The focus of the Home Minister’s activities will be on the Seemanchal region. This initiative is viewed as a key priority for the Home Ministry following the ‘Naxal-Free India’ campaign, with a special emphasis on making Seemanchal free from infiltrators.

Shah has visited Seemanchal multiple times in recent years, underscoring the government’s commitment to the region.

It is noteworthy that Home Minister Amit Shah began his three-day tour of Bihar on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening border security, assessing administrative preparedness, and monitoring ongoing development efforts in the Seemanchal area near the borders with Nepal and Bangladesh.

Upon arriving in Purnia on Wednesday, the Home Minister was welcomed and later traveled by helicopter to Kishanganj, where he chaired a review meeting at the district collectorate to assess the current situation and coordination among officials.
