
Kishanganj, February 25: Union Minister Amit Shah arrived in Kishanganj, Bihar, on Wednesday for a three-day visit to the Seemanchal region. He held a high-level review meeting with senior officials during his stay.
Present at the meeting were Bihar’s Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, along with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai. Prior to this, Shah landed at the Chunapur Military Airport in Purnia, where he received a warm welcome from BJP leaders.
Notable attendees included Bihar’s Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Food and Consumer Protection Minister Leshi Singh, and BJP State President Sanjay Sarawagi, among other senior leaders. Administrative officials, including Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Kumar, IG Vivekanand, DM Anshul Kumar, and SP Sweety Sahrawat, were also present. After meeting with local residents, Shah proceeded to Kishanganj.
On Thursday, Shah is scheduled to visit Araria. He will arrive at the Letti border post near the Nepal border, where he will participate in a program related to border security. Following this, he will convene a high-level review meeting with police superintendents, district magistrates, and other senior officials from bordering districts at the Araria Collectorate.
Reports suggest that the meeting will focus on border security, prevention of illegal immigration, demographic changes, and other strategic issues. On February 27, Shah will again meet with officials in Purnia to discuss matters concerning border districts.
This visit is seen as a significant step towards managing the international border, enhancing surveillance mechanisms, and improving intelligence coordination. Extensive security arrangements have been made in Purnia, Kishanganj, and Araria for the Home Minister’s visit, with police deployed at every location from the airport to event sites. Intelligence and central agencies are also on high alert.
