New Delhi, February 20: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra expressed strong disapproval of the Youth Congress Protest during the AI Summit on Friday, stating that India’s Gen-Z will never forgive the Congress party.
Patra emphasized the significant anger among the youth, particularly Gen-Z, regarding the incident, asserting that the actions of the Youth Congress were a mockery of India’s technological progress, startup ecosystem, and the potential of its youth, which he deemed detrimental to the country’s interests.
In a sharp critique of the Congress party, Patra described it as “topless, brainless, and shameless.” He accused the party of failing to understand that the AI Summit, which they protested against, was not a political event but a global gathering celebrating India’s achievements, attended by leaders from around the world.
Drawing on historical context, Patra referenced a famous image of Jawaharlal Nehru with a snake charmer, suggesting that today’s protests aimed to tarnish India’s modern and emerging technological image.
He condemned questioning India’s accomplishments while praising Pakistan as contrary to national interests. Patra labeled the protest as unfortunate and disgraceful, especially when the world was recognizing India’s contributions.
The protest occurred during the India AI Impact Summit held at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, where Youth Congress activists created a stir by chanting slogans and removing their T-shirts to display messages like “PM is compromised.” At the time, numerous dignitaries and representatives from both India and abroad were present.
Security personnel had to intervene to manage the situation. The high-profile international event, which included government officials, industry leaders, and foreign delegates, saw the immediate detention of the protesters to prevent further disruption.
