Chandigarh, February 18: Gaurav Gautam, a minister in the Haryana government, has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will establish a government in West Bengal following the upcoming elections. He claims that the departure of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee is imminent this time.
In a conversation in Chandigarh, Gautam stated that Banerjee appears to be flustered, sensing a loss of power. He emphasized that the country cannot be governed through violence, which he accuses Banerjee of attempting to do in the state. “I believe the public will respond decisively, leading to a BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership,” he said.
Regarding the Haryana budget set to be presented on March 2, Gautam remarked that this year’s national budget is also historic. He noted that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, under Modi’s leadership, has increased funding for sports by over 33%. Whether it’s youth startups, artificial intelligence, or MSMEs, the government has significantly boosted the budget across various sectors. “I believe Haryana’s budget will also be historic and beneficial for youth and sports. We have requested improvements for our stadiums, timely cash awards, and equipment for our youth. A strong budget focusing on youth and sports is expected,” he added.
In a jab at the opposition, Gautam remarked that they seem to prioritize media presence over genuine issues affecting Haryana. “The opposition rarely discusses the interests of Haryana, opting instead to create a ruckus to stay in the news. This pattern will continue,” he stated.
On the remarks made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding having three children, Gautam expressed agreement, saying, “I concur with what he has stated; it is indeed a valid point.”
