Jerusalem, February 15: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has reported that its troops killed a terrorist in northern Gaza.
In a statement released on Saturday, the IDF indicated that soldiers identified the terrorist, who had crossed the ‘yellow line’ marking areas under Israeli control during the ceasefire. The IDF acted due to perceived threats.
The IDF stated, “Israeli soldiers in the Southern Command are deployed according to the ceasefire agreement and will continue operations to neutralize any immediate threats.”
According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, several others were injured during Israeli military operations that involved demolishing buildings in southern and central Gaza on the same day.
Palestinian Minister of Social Development, Samah Hamad, reported that 85% of Gaza’s population requires emergency relief and recovery assistance. Hamad noted in Ramallah that the number of families in need has surged from 86,000 before the conflict to approximately 320,000 now.
Hamad emphasized, “The situation in the Gaza Strip is becoming increasingly dire, primarily due to the Israeli occupation restricting essential supplies.” He mentioned that his ministry is coordinating with international and UN bodies to secure financial aid and pressuring Israel to allow the entry of food, medicine, and other necessities.
The Gaza Media Office, operated by Hamas, stated that since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, 2025, 31,178 trucks have entered the area, despite a plan for a total of 72,000 trucks.
The office reported that the compliance rate for shipments, including humanitarian aid, commercial supplies, and fuel, was approximately 43%. Meanwhile, Amjad Al-Shawa, head of the Palestinian NGO Network, informed Xinhua that the ongoing Israeli restrictions and obstacles faced by international organizations are hampering humanitarian assistance.
He added that the amount of aid reaching the enclave is significantly below actual needs, with medical supplies meeting only about 10% of demand.
