Raebareli, February 10: Preparations are in full swing at the renowned Shri Jagmohaneshwar Mahadev Temple in Raebareli for the upcoming Mahashivratri festival. The temple will host a grand event featuring a Shiva procession, a community feast, and the wedding of two underprivileged girls within its premises.
During the planning phase, the temple committee engaged in discussions about the event. They emphasized that this celebration is part of a 41-year-old tradition that generates significant enthusiasm among devotees.
Temple minister Harshendra Singh stated, “This temple was established in 1902. Before that, our ancestor Raja Jagmohan Singh undertook a five-month, 19-day pilgrimage from Amarkantak to bring the sacred Shiva Lingam. Scholars from the Kashi Vidwat Parishad performed its consecration through tantric rituals. Raja Jagmohan Singh also contributed to the development of the Chandapur area by acquiring land. Since then, this Shiva Lingam has remained a major center of faith.”
This year, the temple committee has outlined a grand celebration for Mahashivratri. The in-charge of the Shiva procession at Chandapur Temple noted that Baba Bholenath’s procession will be the largest in Raebareli. He mentioned, “The Shri Balaji Band from Gulgau, Haryana, known for its excellence, will be part of the procession, along with the renowned DJ from Rani Ganj, who will get the devotees dancing.”
This time, the wedding of Bholenath and Mata Parvati will feature a unique presentation, including beautiful scenes like the dialogue between Angad and Ravan, with Lord Shri Ram arriving from Ayodhya. Additionally, the Rasleela of Lord Krishna will enhance the grandeur of the procession. Baba’s procession will pass several prominent locations, including the Government Inter College, Hathi Park, V-Mart, Union Bank, Ganesh Hotel, Book Market, Ghantaghar, Caperganj, Capital Cinema, and the bus stop.
