Patna, February 10: Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, commonly known as Pappu Yadav, has received relief from the court in a case related to property disputes in Gardanibagh. On Tuesday, the court granted him bail in this 31-year-old case.
Yadav’s lawyer, Shivnandan Bharti, confirmed that the court granted bail while hearing the case numbered 552/95 from Gardanibagh. He mentioned that Yadav would be released from jail only after the judicial process is completed. Additionally, a hearing related to another case at Buddha Colony police station is scheduled for February 11.
Pappu Yadav was arrested late Friday night from his residence in Mandiri, Patna, amid a high-voltage drama. This action followed a property attachment warrant issued by the court due to his repeated absences during the hearing process. Police took him to IGIMS and later shifted him to PMCH the next day.
During his removal from the residence, there was a confrontation between his supporters and the police. On Saturday, an FIR was filed against Yadav and 20 unidentified individuals for obstructing the arrest and interfering with government duties. This incident is the reason he remains in judicial custody.
The Gardanibagh case dates back to a fraud dispute registered at the Gardanibagh police station in 1995. According to the complaint, the property owner alleged that Yadav deceitfully took over his property for his office. Complainant Vinod Bihari Lal claimed that his house was fraudulently rented out and later used as Yadav’s office, a fact he alleges was concealed during the agreement.
