UCC Implementation Will Be a Major Reform, Says BJP Leader

New Delhi, February 9: BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated that the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in India will be a transformative step for society. He described it as the “mother of all reforms,” emphasizing that it transcends religion and nationality, benefiting every individual.

In an interview with a news agency, Naqvi remarked that misinformation is being spread against the UCC. He stressed the need for a resolution to these misconceptions and encouraged public discussions on the matter.

Supporting Mohan Bhagwat‘s comments, Naqvi noted, “Members associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh take every issue seriously, whether national, international, economic, or social. They understand the pulse of the people and their sentiments, and approach all matters with logic and facts. I believe the Common Civil Code (UCC), envisioned by our Constitution’s framers and directed by governments to pursue, is particularly relevant today as the nation celebrates the Amrit Kaal of independence.”

Regarding the controversy over the demand to confer the Bharat Ratna on Veer Savarkar, Naqvi stated, “The Congress party has become one that tries to inject political motives into every issue. Whenever a nationalist or national hero is honored, Congress responds with disrespect and opposition instead of acceptance.”

He added that the party held power for decades, during which it turned the country’s highest honors into family and party assets. “No one questioned them during that time. As for Veer Savarkar, anyone who wishes to understand his sacrifices and contributions to the nation should visit Cellular Jail and see the cell where he was imprisoned.”
