
Bareilly, February 9: In a significant police operation in the Bhimora area of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, two notorious criminals were apprehended with injuries during an encounter. The police recovered two stolen motorcycles, several looted mobile phones, and illegal firearms during the operation. The injured suspects were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment, and further legal actions are underway.
According to CO Nitin Kumar of Bhimora Police Station, a special team was formed under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police due to a rise in motorcycle thefts and other crimes in the area. This team was tasked with surveillance and tracking previous offenders. While monitoring the area, police received information about two suspicious individuals seen near the Rampura underpass. Upon arrival, the police attempted to stop the suspects, but they opened fire on the police team. In the ensuing exchange, both suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs.
The suspects were identified as Zafaruddin from Bhojipura and Sudama from Jatanagar. Police recovered two stolen motorcycles, four looted mobile phones, and two illegal firearms with live cartridges from their possession. Both individuals have extensive criminal histories, having previously served time in jail for serious offenses in Ghaziabad and Sitapur, and are named in various cases, including NDPS violations. During interrogation, the name of their accomplice, Asif, also emerged, and efforts are underway to apprehend him soon.
The CO stated that strict action would be taken against these individuals, considering their past criminal activities. Currently, both suspects are hospitalized and will be presented before a judicial magistrate. Authorities believe that this encounter and the subsequent recoveries will instill fear among criminals in the area and lead to more effective actions against such incidents in the future.
