Railway Employee Saves Young Woman at Bhavnagar Junction

Bhavnagar, February 9: A railway employee at the Bhavnagar division of Western Railway displayed remarkable vigilance and bravery by saving a young woman’s life on Sunday. The incident occurred when the woman attempted to disembark from the moving train number 59229, the Botad-Bhavnagar passenger service, and lost her balance.

According to reports, while the train was en route to Bhavnagar, a woman fell at the Sehor Junction. CCTV footage clearly shows that she was about to get caught between the platform and the train. However, railway employee Raj Kumar rushed in and pulled her to safety on the platform. This courageous act has been widely praised.

Atul Kumar Tripathi, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the Bhavnagar division, spoke to the media, stating that the woman lost her balance while trying to exit the train, which could have led to a serious fall. Thanks to Raj Kumar’s timely intervention, a major accident was averted.

This incident highlights the dangers of disembarking from a moving train. Such occurrences are common at railway stations when passengers attempt to board or alight before the train has come to a complete stop. Such negligence can lead to severe accidents.

Divisional Railway Manager Dinesh Verma has urged passengers to prioritize their safety and never attempt to board or exit a moving train. He emphasized that passengers should only board or alight once the train has fully stopped and should follow the instructions of railway staff.

He further appealed to travelers to avoid rushing when crossing tracks or attempting to board or disembark from moving trains. A moment of carelessness can have dire consequences. Awareness is key to preventing accidents, as even a small mistake by passengers can lead to significant incidents. It is essential to adhere to all safety regulations and not put one’s life at risk.
