Patna, February 8: Union Minister Chirag Paswan has criticized the Congress party‘s protests against the arrest of Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament from Purnia. He stated that the opposition is merely engaging in political theatrics regarding this issue.
During a media interaction in Patna, Paswan remarked that Pappu Yadav is the same individual whom the so-called ‘Indi Alliance’ aimed to defeat during the Lok Sabha elections. He noted that leaders from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Tejashwi Yadav had even suggested that voters should support the NDA if necessary. However, he expressed skepticism about the sudden concern the opposition is showing for Yadav, emphasizing that everyone knows the opposition’s dual nature.
Responding to Tejashwi Yadav’s statements, Paswan asserted that merely accusing others will not harm him. He added that when one points fingers, they should also reflect on their own actions. In the current scenario, if there is genuine concern, it is the responsibility of the opposition leader to be accountable. He criticized those who avoid parliamentary sessions and travel abroad during legislative proceedings, suggesting that such political animosity leads to unproductive discussions.
Regarding the death of a NEET student, Paswan acknowledged that everyone has the right to express their anger and emotions. However, he emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that anyone found guilty faces severe punishment to prevent similar incidents in the future. He highlighted the government’s decisive actions, from forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to initiating a CBI inquiry, assuring that justice will be served.
