Lucknow, February 8: Uttar Pradesh Minister Narendra Kashyap has hit back at Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav regarding his statements on the voter registration process. Kashyap accused Yadav of misleading voters since the introduction of the State Information Report (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh.
In a conversation in Lucknow, Minister Kashyap referenced Yadav’s press conference, stating that as a former Chief Minister, Yadav is well aware of the legal process. He noted that if there are fraudulent signatures on Forms 6, 7, and 8, objections can be filed. However, instead of following legal procedures, Yadav is spreading confusion through the media.
Kashyap emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to ensure that no eligible voter is left unregistered. He expressed the party’s commitment to achieving 100% voter registration, encouraging all citizens to participate in the democratic process. He believes that every voter in Uttar Pradesh contributes to strengthening democracy.
The Minister asserted that the government is performing well and expressed hope that all voters will support the BJP in the upcoming elections.
Regarding the SP’s rally planned for February 16, he questioned what the party aims to prove by gathering individuals whose registrations are missing or have been deleted.
On the topic of the India-U.S. trade deal, Minister Kashyap responded to opposition queries, stating that when the U.S. raised tariffs, the Indian alliance and opposition leaders reacted strongly. He highlighted that Prime Minister Modi and the government have consistently prioritized the interests of farmers and traders. As a result, they successfully negotiated with the U.S., leading to a reduction in tariffs under Trump.
Kashyap suggested that the leaders of the Indian alliance should commend the Prime Minister instead of initiating new controversies. He reiterated that the public knows PM Modi stands firm for India’s rights and remains connected with the common people.
