
New Delhi, February 8: The upcoming ‘India AI impact Summit 2026’ will be organized through seven interconnected working groups, each focusing on distinct themes related to artificial intelligence (AI). These groups will address critical areas of AI’s impact, establishing concrete steps from policy-making to real-world applications. This information was revealed in an official statement released on Sunday.
Each working group aims to enhance collaboration among countries regarding the social implications of AI, covering topics from teaching new skills to ensuring the safe and ethical use of AI. The seven themes include human resources, inclusion for social empowerment, safe and reliable AI, science, innovation and efficiency, equitable access to AI resources, and AI for economic growth and social welfare.
The statement emphasized that through these groups, India seeks to address local challenges while also playing a role in shaping global AI regulations. The outcomes of this summit are expected to guide policymakers, investors, and industry leaders in the coming years.
Over 100 countries are participating in these working groups to shape a responsible and inclusive future for AI. The India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled for February 16 to 20, is anticipated to host heads of state from 15 to 20 countries, more than 50 international ministers, and over 40 CEOs from global and Indian companies.
The foundation of this summit is based on three core principles, referred to as the “threads”: people, planet, and progress. These principles will guide global cooperation on AI.
